Kappa Sigma Fraternity to Host First-Ever International Day of Service on October 20, 2012

Kappa Sigma Fraternity today announced that it will hold an inaugural Day of Service throughout the United States and Canada on Saturday, October 20, 2012.  Thousands of college undergraduate and alumni members will volunteer their time for service projects and philanthropic fundraisers to benefit hundreds of non-profit organizations within their local communities.  Projects will range from serving meals in soup kitchens, to charity donation drives, to building homes for low-income families.

The Day of Service is the latest strategy in Kappa Sigma’s “A Greater Cause” initiative, the organization’s ongoing commitment to promote volunteerism, citizenship and service to the community.  It will be the largest single-day service project in the history of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and the first coordinated international day of service for any collegiate social fraternity.

Kappa Sigma Fraternity Decreases Undergraduate Risk Management Assessment Fees By 6%; Pays Off International HQ Mortgage Debt

Fraternity’s Cost of Membership at Lowest in Decades;
Financial Position Best in History and Continues to Strengthen

Kappa Sigma Fraternity, the largest and most preferred men’s collegiate social fraternity in the world, recently announced a 6% decrease in risk management assessment fees for the 2012-13 school year. The reduction brings the total cost of undergraduate membership in Kappa Sigma, which already was among the most affordable in the Greek world, to its lowest level in decades.

Separately, the organization today announced a further strengthening of its financial balance sheet by confirming that it paid off the remaining debt on the Fraternity’s office (condo) portion of the mortgage on its International Headquarters in Charlottesville, Virginia during its recently completed fiscal year.
