SEATTLE, December 5, 2018 — Each November around Thanksgiving, the University of Washington Huskies and the Washington State University Cougars battle in one of College Football’s most celebrated rivalries: the Apple Cup.
This year, the Apple Cup took place in a snowy Pullman, WA, home of the WSU Cougars. Sadly, the Husky Marching Band was unable to attend the game and support their team following a charter bus accident on ice-covered roads between Seattle and Pullman. In a show of great sportsmanship, the Cougar Marching Band learned and performed the Husky Fight Song in front of a packed Cougar Stadium, putting rivalry aside to show support. Out of a similar desire to help and support others, the Kappa Sigma Fraternity for 40 years has run the Apple Cup game ball across Washington State to raise money and awareness for a variety of philanthropic causes.

This year, the run started in Seattle, WA with Beta-Psi Chapter Brothers taking turns to run the ball about 150 miles east over the Snoqualmie Pass and into central Washington. There, they met the Gamma-Mu Chapter Brothers who completed the remainder of the run to Pullman, WA for gameday at Martin Stadium.
