The next commissioner we’re excited to introduce to you is Brother Mark K. Higgins, II (Gamma, Louisiana State University, ’02), who is serving as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commissioner for the biennium. This is an area that Kappa Sigma is making great strides in, and we are excited to have Brother Higgins lead the way. We had the opportunity to meet with Brother Higgins and discuss his time as a Kappa Sigma:

What is your professional title and employer outside of the Order?

“I’m the Director of Motor Carrier Experience for The Port of Virginia.”

What is your favorite Kappa Sigma event you attended?

“My favorite event was the 2019 Grand Conclave in Charlottesville, our 150th Anniversary. Visiting 46 East Lawn for the very first time and getting to see all of the historical items at the museum at our International Headquarters was an incredible experience.”

Why do you volunteer for Kappa Sigma?

“Leadership development was foundational to my undergraduate experience.  The opportunity to work with, mold, and guide today’s collegiate leaders is incredibly rewarding.”

What’s the best advice for Kappa Sigma Chapters that you can give?

“Focus on recruiting leaders; invest in them and develop them.  Be strategic and play the long game, build for more than just this semester.”

Thank you, Brother Higgins, Kappa Sigmas across North America stand with you as you lead our diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts this biennium! AEKΔB!

FIVE CAMPAIGN  Legacy At the Lawn

Welcome to the FIVE Campaign — a historic weekend of giving in support of Legacy at the Lawn and the next great chapter in the story of Kappa Sigma.

What is Legacy at the Lawn?

It is the expansion of the finest fraternity headquarters in the world. Our enhanced Charlottesville campus will preserve the history and legacy of our Chapters, honor the achievements of individual Brothers, showcase our individual chapter archives, and tell our story for generations to come.

Our weekend goal for the FIVE Campaign is $1,250,000, and to reach it, we are challenging every Chapter and their Alumni to raise $5,000 in new naming opportunities. Nearly 200 alumni ambassadors have already stepped forward to help us achieve this important milestone.

Your gift also has the potential to directly help your undergraduates at your Chapter.
