Rush Procedures And Guidelines

Kappa Sigma leadership has continued to monitor the COVID-19 situation across North America. We are receiving updates from many of our host institutions regarding guidelines and plans for the upcoming semester. The COVID-19 Fall 2020 Rush Resource Guide will show how you can prepare for Rush this upcoming semester. Chapters and Colonies need to be aware and follow local guidelines of your state or provincial government regarding the phased approach to re-opening.

Kappa Sigma Leadership Conference Moved to VEGAS!

Kappa Sigma is committed to giving our undergraduates a Leadership Conference to provide vital programs to our chapters and to celebrate our great accomplishments this past year. We are excited to announce that by delaying the conference to Winter Break, we will provide a safe, world-class event up to Kappa Sigma’s high standards in one of the most exciting cities in North America! Kappa Sigma’s undergraduates deserve nothing less!

Because you already registered for our Denver event, that registration/hotel request has been adjusted to the Las Vegas event, so you are all set to attend the Leadership Conference at Bally’s Las Vegas, January 8th and 9th, 2021! If you have any questions, or if you need to adjust your agenda, log in to your original registration confirmation or call headquarters at (434) 295-3193.

James R. Favor & Company

The content below has been provided by our insurance partner, James R. Favor & Company.

James R. Favor & Company is pleased to provide the Breaking the Chain of Infection, Guidance for a Healthful Living Environment for Fraternity and Sorority Chapters for your immediate use and distribution.

This Guide is a product of Council Rock Consulting, Inc., a multidisciplinary consulting firm with a specialty in the area of public health and infectious disease. Favor & Company chose to work with CRC on this comprehensive publication due to the firm’s extensive work for the National Institutes of Health and multiple institutions of higher education.

In this Guide, you will find detailed resources and instruction for individual members, chapters, and house corporations. Our goal has been to provide a resource that presents a full range of considerations and steps for planning for a fall reopening for your organization’s multiple audiences that can be put to use right away. This guidance is based on advice tailored for the Fraternity and Sorority community’s unique needs. The Guide addresses not only how to prepare for and respond to a pandemic but also takes the advice a step further by providing links to products and other resources chapters and house corporations will find useful.

As we have seen just yesterday at the University of Washington, it is possible to have a COVID-19 outbreak in a chapter facility, and chapters should be prepared to handle this situation. We are happy to share the process for addressing an outbreak with you as a part of this publication.

Please share this resource with your Chapters, House Corporations, and Volunteers.

Favor – Breaking The Chain

SB 359 was signed into law in the State of Georgia. This bill makes it harder for someone to file a lawsuit against a business or organization for a claim regarding COVID-19, as long as that organization takes the reasonable precaution of posting a warning statement.

Kappa Sigma has created a poster to help you comply with this law and to protect your chapter and the General Fraternity against such lawsuits. Please print this poster and post copies at each entrance to your chapter house and any location you hold an indoor event or meeting.
