The 7th Annual Kappa Sigma Great Lakes Conclave took place on Saturday, February 22nd in Chicago, at the University of Illinois-Chicago. The multi-district conclave was attended by more than 200 Brothers from 24 chapters from the Midwest, including the Indiana/Illinois, Michigan, Northern Ohio, Southern Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin districts.

The keynote speaker was Worthy Grand Master Justin A. Hansen (Xi-Beta, Northeastern University, ’01), who spoke on the power of brand and simplicity to the success of an organization. Attendees also attended breakout sessions on Kappa Sigmas’ key programs, officer expectations, professional development, and our history and ritual. Other distinguished presenters included Past Worthy Grand Master (2005-2007) Donal L. McClamroch, Jr., (Eta, Randolph Macon College, ‘74), and Executive Director Mitchell B. Wilson (Beta-Nu, University of Kentucky, ’78).

The day was capped off by the special initiation of Brother Brendan Dickson, son of Southern Ohio ADGM George L. Dickson (Theta-Omicron, Muskingum University, ’89). The initiation team consisted of Theta-Omicron alumni and chapter officers, as well as the Undergraduate Advisory Committee Delegate for Area 3. After the ceremony, the new initiate was presented with a special badge and a Jackson’s Men pin after a donation was made in his honor.

Attendees enjoyed an evening reception at The Exchequer restaurant in Chicago to end the day with fellowship and merriment.

For those who missed out on this year’s festivities, the 2021 Kappa Sigma Great Lakes Conclave will be held on February 20th, 2021, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
