We’re excited to welcome you to the 2026 Kappa Sigma Leadership Conference in New Orleans! As you prepare for your journey, we’ve compiled a recommended packing list to help ensure a smooth and comfortable experience throughout the event.
Essential Travel Items
- Valid photo ID (required at hotel check-in). Please remember that TSA now requires a REAL ID or additional verification.
- Travel documents (airline/train confirmation, hotel reservation)
- Event registration confirmation (printed or digital)
- Health insurance card
- Any necessary medications
Dress Code Guidance
We encourage all attendees to dress appropriately for each component of the Leadership Conference:
Business Casual Attire (for general sessions & breakout sessions):
- Polo or collared shirts
- Slacks or khakis
- Comfortable shoes
Ritual, or Formal Events:
- Suit or sport coat and tie
- Dress shoes
- Official Kappa Sigma regalia (if applicable)
Casual/Social Events:
- Chapter t-shirts or casual wear
- Shorts or jeans
- Comfortable footwear for walking
Personal Items
- Toiletries (toothbrush, deodorant, shaving items, etc.)
- Sunscreen (New Orleans heat!)
- Reusable water bottle
- Cell phone and charger
Reminders
On-site registration and check-in will open on Thursday, July 17, at 8 am CT and will be located in the Empire Ballroom Foyer. The first General Session will begin at 2 p.m. CT.
Hotel check-in begins at 4:00 p.m. CT, and rooms will become available as they are cleaned. We understand that many members may not be able to check in before the first general session, so a dedicated space has been arranged to store luggage for those who arrive before their hotel room is ready.
Hotel confirmations will be sent via email the week before.
