The Supreme Executive Committee of Kappa Sigma Fraternity has announced that Brother Chris Harrison will be honored by the Fraternity by receiving the Kappa Sigma Man of the Year Award for 2018. Brother Harrison is the 84th member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity to receive the Man of the Year Award. The award has been presented on 81 occasions and on three of those occasions, the award was presented to two recipients. The award has been presented to Brothers in the field of entertainment, business, science and medicine, captains of industry, leaders in government and athletes.

Brother Harrison was initiated into the Theta-Psi Chapter at Oklahoma City University on March 31, 1990 and graduated from Oklahoma City University in 1993. Brother Harrison has distinguished himself in the entertainment industry through a variety of professional endeavors. In 2001, he became host of ABC’s hit romance/reality series “The Bachelor” and the “The Bachelorette.” He also has hosted ABC’s popular reality show “Bachelor Pad” and the all-star reunion from various seasons of “The Bachelor “and “The Bachelorette,” from 2010-2012, and its successor “Bachelor in Paradise,” since 2014. Additionally, Harrison hosted the live after-show “After Paradise,” with author and “Bachelor” franchise enthusiast Jenny Mollen in 2015.

Brother Harrison continues to advance in the entertainment industry through a variety of professional endeavors.

He is the host of the nationally syndicated game show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire,” for which he received his first ever Emmy nomination in 2018 for the Best Game Show Host. He joined the popular long-running franchise beginning with its 14th season in the fall of 2015 while remaining the host of “The Bachelor” franchise. Harrison also has co-hosted ABC’s live coverage of the “Miss America Pageant” from 2011-2017. Additionally hosting credits include “Emmy’s Red Carpet Live” at the 2012 Primetime Emmys, ABC’s 2011 “American Music Awards Red Carpet,” live television coverage of the final championship rounds of the 2010 “Scripps National Spelling Bee” on ABC , ABC’s 2008 “American Music Awards Red Carpet Live!” and the “Road to the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards,” ABC.com’s daily coverage leading up to the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards.

In a departure from his many broadcast endeavors, Brother Harrison turned to the written page, as he penned his first book – an emotional and suspenseful novel entitled “The Perfect Letter.” It was published by Harper Collins in May of 2015.

The versatile Harrison has done his fair share of acting as well, with roles in the popular television series “Alias,” “The Practice,” “Six Feet Under” and “Sabrina the Teenage Witch.” His feature film appearances include “Bounce,” “Showtime” and portraying himself in the comedy “Date Movie.”

In his spare time, Harrison plays soccer and has become addicted to golf. He has developed a great appreciation for the weather and lifestyle of Southern California and spends as much time as possible in the outdoors with his 17-year old son, Joshua and 15-year old daughter, Taylor.

Brother Harrison is a native of Dallas, Texas.

The Brothers of the Theta-Psi Chapter will host the Man of the Year Banquet in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 14, 2019 at the Skirvin Hotel.
