Xi-Iota Raises $11,600 For Breast Cancer Research

On Thursday, October 14th, the Xi-Iota Chapter at Columbus State University held their 10th annual “Shave to Save” event benefitting breast cancer research through the American Cancer Society. Held every October at the clock tower on the campus of Columbus State University, Xi-Iota brothers and pledges voluntarily have their heads shaved in order to help raise money and show support for those battling breast cancer. “Shave to Save” is the largest philanthropy event held on campus. Those in attendance include students, faculty, sororities, and even some parents. Over the past nine years, the Xi-Iota chapter has raised over $72,000 towards breast cancer research. This year alone they were able to raise $11,600! “It’s an amazing feeling to watch your chapter come together and raise money and awareness to such a great cause” said Xi-Iota Grand Master Garrett Hill.
