On behalf of the Supreme Executive Committee, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year. In 2013 you helped bring Kappa Sigma to new heights and I have no doubt that 2014 will be an even more successful year for our order.
In July, more than 1,200 brothers came together to celebrate Kappa Sigma’s greatest biennium. Additionally, earlier this month over 300 undergraduate brothers were awarded Scholarship-Leadership Awards by the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund.
In October, Kappa Sigma chapters across the United States and Canada once again participated in the Kappa Sigma Day of Service, answering our call to service. The Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Campaign continues to succeed with events like Sleep out for Soldiers hosted by our Alpha-Lambda Chapter (Vermont) and the Sigma-Theta (Old Dominion) Military Heroes 5k Race.
You have continued to work towards Jackson’s Dream with record recruitment in 2013. More quality men have been given the gift of Kappa Sigma in 2013 than ever before. Just this academic year alone, we have once again setting a record for fall recruitment and I know we can count on your chapters to do the same again in the spring. Additionally, the Star and Crescent has returned to flagship universities including University of New Hampshire and New York University.
On this New Year’s Day, please take a moment to create your own “Year in Review” for your chapter and set the bar a notch higher for 2014. Commit to living the Star and Crescent and resolve to not only make Kappa Sigma number one on your campus but strive to be one of Kappa Sigma’s best chapters.
I know I can count on each and every one of you to make 2014 another record setting year, solidifying our place in history as The Greatest Fraternity In the World!
Happy New Year.
Hugh M. Robert
Worthy Grand Master
