Xi-Beta at Northeastern University had another great recruitment season adding 28 pledges during its Spring 2019 recruitment which saw the interest of 160+ students. This brings the recruitment total for the year up to 66 accepted bids which is a record not only for Xi-Beta (62% increase year over year) but also for fraternities at Northeastern University.
This year Xi-Beta changed up all their events, opting out of usual spring events held indoors and instead transformed the outdoors into spaces suitable for larger rush events. Even though it proved difficult accommodating these events in the Boston winter, they used large tents in addition to commercial space heaters to allow for events typically reserved for fall rush such as Pig Roast and Cigars to go off flawlessly.
The decision to expand events and adapt them to the Boston winter in addition to a large brotherhood involvement allowed for Xi-Beta to have another record-breaking rush.
