Kappa Sigma is proud to announce the establishment and installation of the Phi-Kappa Chapter at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, CT. This past Saturday, January 24, 2026, they were installed as our 444th Chapter. The Phi-Kappa Colony kicked off on April 18, 2024, and over the last 2 years, the Colony has worked hard to earn their Chapter’s Charter. To achieve their charter, the 35 men of Phi-Kappa donated over 1,346.50 hours of community service, and completed multiple workshops on time management, the Code of Conduct, and Champion Quest.
These Brothers were joined by Communications and Publications Coordinator Michael J. Malenic (Pi-Rho, 16), and Ritualist Owen Evon (Theta Prime, ’21), who represented the Fraternity. District Grand Master Jonathan J. Piazza-Harper (Epsilon-Zeta, ’04) represented the District.
Thank you to all the volunteers and alumni who helped make this installation special, including: Alumus Advisor John R. Peterson (Omicron-Phi, ’18).
We would also like to thank the Brothers of the following Chapters who attended the Installation as ritual teams:
Phi-Beta – Western New England University
Sigma Alpha – Trinity College
Upsilon-Nu – Willimantic, CT
Brothers everywhere wish Phi-Kappa the best as they begin their road to excellence and offer our congratulations!
