The Kappa Sigma Fraternity has announced that Brother Bryan Wittman has been awarded the US Senator John G. Tower Distinguished Alumni Award, considered one of the highest honors Alumni can receive within the national Fraternity.
Established in 1995, this award honors “Kappa Sigma Brothers who have shown a commitment to their business, family, church, philanthropy, and community activities.” It is named for the late Brother John G. Tower, U. S. Senator from Texas, who served on the Kappa Sigma Supreme Executive Committee for six years and was Worthy Grand Master from 1971-73.
Brother Wittman is a 1978 Initiate of the Theta-Nu Chapter at Ashland University. In a marketing career with Disney spanning three decades, his pinnacle was as a senior executive as the Vice President of Global Special Events.
Wittman oversaw the creative development, production, and marketing of major grand openings, special events, entertainment, and festivals for Disney theme parks and resorts worldwide. This included premiers at Times Square, Hollywood Boulevard, and the White House and overseeing promotions for the Los Angeles Angels and the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.
His focus also encompassed the marketing of numerous large-scale development projects such as Hong Kong Disneyland, the California Adventure Theme Park, the Downtown Disney Entertainment Complex, ESPN Zones, and hundreds of thrill rides, attractions, parades, and celebrations. He served as the creative force behind Disney productions for Super Bowl halftime shows, the Macy’s Parade, and Pasadena’s famed Rose Parade.
Wittman says, “Disney taught me how to think differently. Success was achieved by approaching projects creatively, inspirationally, and strategically, and by thinking in a very clever, smart way.”
Wittman is originally from the Buffalo, New York, area where he now resides and runs his own company, Dry Creek Marketing Group. He is married to his wife, Kathy, and is known as an aficionado of the Buffalo Bisons minor league baseball team.
